Mr Chee H Kon DIC MSc, MD, FRCOphth
Qualified from Charing Cross Hospital, London, and received ophthalmological training in a number of hospitals in the South, including Bournemouth, Brighton, Guildford, Sutton and St. George’s hospitals. Having gained an MD in proliferative retinopathy at Moorfields Eye Hospital and received the first Moorfields Research medal, he went on to complete the specialist registrar rotation and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery. He was appointed consultant in March 2000 and is currently the clinical tutor for ophthalmology at Worthing General Hospital.
His interest is in proliferative vitreoretinopathy, small incision cataract surgery and new treatments for macular degeneration. He has published widely in peer review journals, authored a general ophthalmology book and is currently sub-editor of “eyetext.net”, an Internet ophthalmology textbook. He also has an MSc in Management Science from Imperial College, London.
His surgical skills encompass all general ophthalmic procedures, including small incision cataract surgery as well as the more specialized retinal surgery.
