About Specialist Eye Centre
Specialist Eye Centre (SEC) is a team of two Ophthalmic surgeons who also hold consultant posts at NHS hospitals (Worthing, Southlands & St. Richards, Chichester). They are fully qualified and provide routine eye treatments such as cataract surgery. In addition, the consultant have differing sub-specialities so SEC can offer a full “in-house” cover for all conditions in ophthalmology including complicated retinal, squint and corneal surgery.
The aims of SEC are to provide your patients with comprehensive private ophthalmic care:
- Highly trained specialists. The team members cover all subspecialties in ophthalmology
- Easy access to the best care. Patients can be referred to an individual consultant or to the Eye Centre, which then arranges for the patient to be seen at their earliest convenience
- An efficient and complimentary internal referral service for second opinion advice between specialists
- A consultant-led 24-hour cover for emergencies and enquiries. Any patient referred to the Specialist Eye Care team will automatically be a patient of the team and will benefit from consultant-led expert advice and care at all times.

The Team
Mr. Masoud Teimory MB ChB, FRCOphth and Mr. Chee H. Kon MSc, DIC, MD, FRCOphth are both dynamic ophthalmic surgeons who hold consultant posts at NHS hospitals in the South of England:
- Worthing General Hospital,Worthing.
- Southlands Hospital, Shoreham.
- St. Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.
Each team member is highly trained from leading ophthalmic centres in the UK, including St. George's Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, all based in London. The members have an extensive background in eye research and are well known and respected within the ophthalmic community. Striving to be at the forefront of ophthalmology, they are familiar with the latest eye treatment and surgical techniques. As practising NHS consultants, they are constantly auditing and updating their practice of ophthalmology to reflect the principles of clinical governance and evidence-based medicine.
